100% a nightfury. i've repetitively had nightfury cameo shifts and oh, what i would give to be a giant scaly cat monster Same!! I'm a cat and nightfuries are juuust cat enough that sometimes I look at them and go "what do you mean this is not me? is cat?" and then I realize they're scaled and winged and spit... something? fire? 10/10 would still pick them if I could choose though.
Same but only because they're also drakns who actually have a ton of info and images and fanart. And I probably would have figured out I was one after the first movie. |

If I could pick, I'd stay a dragon and Homura and pick raven, thylacine, monitor lizards and snakes. All of the animals I've listed have been very strong and persistent, recurring cameo shifts over a number of years and it gets a bit nebulous on what they are sometimes, so I'd love for it to just be simple lol. They're also all favourite animals of mine (and honestly I think it'd be sick as hell to be a Megalania or something; I miss the enormous Komodo dragons </3).

This is a tough one!
Honestly it's so hard because leopards are such an inherent part of me, that considering myself to be anything else, even in hypothetical, just feels wrong.
So, if I was approached by some sort of being or entity that was like "I can change you so that you can pick what your kintype is" I don't think I'd change anything!
On the other hand...
I think I'd either pick a leopon (lion/leopard hybrid) because my fursona is one, a lion, OR a sauropod (long neck dinosaur).
Sauropods mean a lot to me! So much so that I briefly considered it being a kintype or a heartedtype. The latter I'm still debating.

[Silver]: I think id prefer to be just regular dragonkin instead of a specific dragon species from a fictional source that doesnt get much content compared to the other dragon species in it. It would certainly be easier. Theres also a few past lives of mine that I just... Dont really connect with or identify as/with anymore but they are still there and I think id like to identify as them again but the problem is I just dont. IDK if its a plural thing by how we experience plurality and it was a headmate being around I wasnt detecting properly or being Not The Original having a more fluid identity or what but theres just... a disconnect. The noema is there but there is no connection. Calling myself kin of those things wouldnt be right, and calling them fictionflickers when they were identities I had for ~3 years solidly isnt really right either.

Just for fun;
A friend and I were talking about this and we both said rat, an identity we tried on but wasn't us. Rats are so much fun though, I think having them as a theriotype would be comfy.
Others here have mentioned bunnies and raccoons and they would both seem like a lot of fun to me too!
For otherkin-type I'd like to be a kitsune or other fox spirit, since it's something I thought I was at a younger age but it doesn't quite fit me anymore as I am no fox and the magical part of me is very different to them. Would've been nice, but I like myself and who/what I am.

Any species of griffin that aren't the classical eagle/lion hybrid. Mostly cause there are so many different underappreciated species of griffins, such as crow/black panthers, vulture/hyena and some other that's an owl/snow leopard. I don't know... griffins are neat. if not a griffin, than an elf cause why not 😅

Honestly I'd love to be a vulture, especially if it could replace my osprey theriotype. Its pretty close but I just like vultures better and I could base an aesthetic off of them much easier. And theres lots of places I can get to where I can be around vultures so I could feel like I was one of them, not so much for ospreys. I like how vultures have that community to them too. Very intelligent cool birds.

Dragon, it's something i questioned early on and, while it's just not me, I still deeply admire dragons. Also birds of prey! I especially have a soft spot for kestrels, and who wouldn't want to fly? Oh I love birds of prey, I have volunteered rehabbing them and kestrels are so good. I am an osprey therian, so i felt a sort of kinship with them and thought I was a red tailed hawk for a while. It too me a bird to figure out I'm an osprey because its like the one raptor that im never around. Which sucks! I wish I could be a bird that I can hang out with, lol. |

Some sort of mid-to-large size dromaeosaurid. Would go ballistic (in a positive way) to be one of those big fluffy boys… deinonychus, utahraptor, I’d even take something like changyuraptor even though it’s little. I’m a hobby fossil hunter and while there’s never anything neat around me other than squid bones and plant fossils, something about finding them makes me unreasonably happy.

OH, adding to what I said before, if my primary kintype could have been a dragon or a griffin instead of a neopet, that would have been great. I think its close enough to my actual kintype my personality and life experiences would not have changed much, but as someone who did not grow up playing neopets and was scouring mythology for my kintype, I would have found it a lot faster. Especially because I was obsessed with dragons growing up and they are a heart type and i get cameo shifts as them, so there has been times when I thought I was dragonkin anyways.

I'm a shapeshifter so I'm not sure if I'm allowed to answer this but if I could choose my species? Like if I could just be one thing? I'd choose either some real world aquatic animal or something feline. Maybe both.
