On January 8th at 12:00 PM Central Time, Citrakayah and bloodmuffins will be holding a moderated discussion about therianthropy on IRC. The topics will be:

1. What are your experiences with food-related urges (predatory/browsing/foraging behavior)? How does that affect your daily life?
2. What are your experiences with territorial urges? What problems, if any, have they caused for you? How do you manage them in a healthy way?

To join, go to www.rizon.net/chat and type "#stdc" into the channel field, then your preferred nickname into the nickname field. Then, hit connect. There is no password. You may have to add some random digits to the end of your nickname; Rizon is a large server and some nicknames may already be registered. Please note that when not in use the channel is locked. This means that outside of shortly before the chat starts, during the chat, and shortly after it ends (if people linger), it will be impossible to say anything in the chat.

"Also, a few people wondered why with the most recent incarnation of the STDC, I haven't worked with other people to set up bridge bots. That's because they're difficult to work with from our end. If we need to contact a specific user, or, gods forbid, moderate them, we can't do that without either derailing the conversation by addressing a public channel, or moderating everyone using the bridge bot to participate. It's also been hard for us to tell who is and isn't participating.

In light of the relatively few number of people who participated using them, and our ability to get sufficient numbers without the bridge bots, I judged the extra difficult not worth it."
