Hi everyone! Browsing this forum earlier today, I remembered some really awesome webcomics I've read over the years, and have become inspired to create my own! I really enjoy both writing and drawing, but here's the thing: drawing for too long makes my hand hurt. That, and I cannot figure out digital art for the life of me.
So, I have a proposal. What if some of us teamed up to make this webcomic? I would do the writing, and several people could contribute to the graphics? (Note: Please tell me if this is the wrong place to suggest this idea). This will be entirely without profit for at least some time, but if and if so when we do start to get ad revenue or whatever, it'll be evenly split.
As for what the comic will be about, I'm still developing some ideas. I want it to be fairly "by the seat of the pants" and kind of wild, with a similar pace and tone to Homestuck, if slightly grittier. I want the writing to be spontaneous, so I'm purposefully not planning out too much. Also, this will definitely be a mature read, with serious topics, moderate spiciness, fantasy violence and such, so apologies in advance but if you're a kid you'll have to wait this one out. I would like to incorporate dark humor (as in normal dark humor, not "bigots on stage with microphones") as well as serious themes. And I want to have a diverse cast of characters. There will be all sorts of "unrealistic" elements, like beings and powers that don't exist, can't exist,or have even been to Wyoming.
This will probably be a long term project, but as I've mentioned, I would like to feature a variety of artists, so if you'd like to join, prioritize drawing what you're comfortable doing, not what you feel obligated to do. Everyone who contributes will be credited properly unless they choose to remain anonymous. (Which kind of feels funny to say since I myself will be publishing under a pseudonym)!
Also, the webcomic won't be on any strict schedule because at any given time I am working on other projects, I am in college, and hopefully I will have a job sometime in the near future. That being said, I would like to update at least once in a while because I don't want to leave potential fans waiting for extended periods of time without a good reason.
One more note: I plan on having the webcomic be somewhat private. I'll share it to this forum, and a few friends, and I'll allow collaborators and readers to do the same, but I think to much attention will overwhelm me and cause a sense of obligation.
