Updating this with a new trainer card I made a few days ago.
Shiny Charizard: Charizard was my first starter, the shiny has always been one of my favourites and has special significance to one of my fictionflickers/past lives.
Mightyena: Representation for my daemon's current analytic form, the brown hyena
Swanna: Representation for my daemon's current symbolic form, the black swan. Swans have also been a recurring motif for me in both my specific character fictotypes' lives, as well as here.
Mandibuzz: Result I got off a really good Pokémon partner quiz by firstginger on tumblr. Can also be swapped with Corviknight, I just like big black carrion birds. Bonus points for being Dark/Flying.
Espeon: Obvious free pick since it's a kintype of mine. Probable starter or partner/shoulder Pokémon if I was in the Pokémon world.
Salazzle: Representation/Pokésona for my Homura fictotype. It fits on so many levels it's not funny. Also happens to be one of my faves in general, as well as being inspired by the mo'o from Hawai'i, one of my favourite tidbits of Polynesian lore.
"But the horror...the horror was for love..." the sirius cluster ⋄ 27 ⋄ she/they collectively ⋄ plural ⋄ therian, draconic, divine, fictionfolk
I just have canines and dragons lol For past Pokémon games that I've played I've always had an Umbreon by the elite 4, the rest are just Pokémon that I like.
My team is based on the actual team I raised in-game, purely based off of favorites and personal experiences. I have multiple Pokemon universe self-inserts, and while one is a Water Type Gym Leader, the Pokemon detailed below are part of my personal team unassociated with that monotype team, except for Icey who is part of both.
Icey (Empoleon) - Male - Adamant - Likes to relax Icey was my starter from Pokemon Diamond, which I got when I was approximately 8-9. I didn't have an attachment to Empoleon prior, but he's become a very important Pokemon to me over the years, and I'm very proud of him; I mention him often in Pokemon discussions about ones dear to us. He has many ribbons! I've always been attached to Water Types, but somehow I got a lot more attached to him than my very first starter in FireRed, the game I had before Diamond.
Latte (Latias) - Female - Quiet - Mischievous Latias is an important Pokemon to me as well, because as a child, I saw Pokemon in the world around us and interacted with them. While this was real and me reaching creatures from parallel dimensions or it was me being weirdbrain, I can't say for sure. But in order to help protect others, Latte paired up with me, and we grew very close during our time together. Over time, when we finally pushed back the Darkrai who was causing problems in our area, I wasn't able to contact her as easily, and I miss her, but she's a Pokemon I use in-game because it's comforting being with her.
Citrine (Raichu) - Female - Bashful - Likes to fight I just really like Raichu! I have a small plushie of one I sometimes carried around with me in high school as a comforting soft pal, and I like their design. Electric types are good type-wise in the team as well. (I didn't form my team based on typings and what was actually best for battle, but I tried to at least vary it a little.) I've used a Raichu, though not the same Raichu, often in the games when growing up, so it's another Pokemon I've gotten attached to.
Grace (Glaceon) - Female - Relaxed - Likes to fight Glaceon is my favorite Eeveelution, though very close with Umbreon. When I was younger, I got a bit insecure about having a Water Type monotype team in my Gym Leader self-insert 'verse, so I decided that I was now an Ice Type monotype trainer, because that was less "common and basic". I got over it, but I still have a love for some Ice Types as a result of working with them. Grace is also the partner of another one of my self-insert universe selves, so it felt right to have her on my personal team.
Apollo (Braixen) - Male - Bold - Alert to sounds My starter from Pokemon Y, who I transferred to Alpha Sapphire to have in my personal team. While I worked with him in Y, I grew attached to him and formed a personality and story for him, so he became part of my personal team. I don't really like Delphox, so I never evolved him, and he's the spunky fox buddy of the team now.
Noir (Noivern) - Male - Relaxed - Quick-tempered The baby of the team! When Gen 6 came out fully, I basically fell in love with Noivern's design, so he's probably one of the only Pokemon I actively picked to add to my team rather than just getting attached to a Pokemon I was working with and having a hard time parting with them. So in this case... it really doesn't go deeper than liking Noivern's design and then getting attached to the actual Pokemon and their personality and story. Black/turquoise/purple is a great color scheme.
"But a legendary on a personal team is unfair!" Latte is part of my personal team for the above personal reasons, but when I can't reasonably use her, I usually use a Meowstic (M) named Mirai after how the name I entered into the fictionkin community with. Myself in-game, essentially, though I didn't actively aim to get one whose personality and characteristics matched my own. In SoulSilver, I also considered a Dragonair named Mystic to be part of my personal team, and in Pokemon Black, I had a Mienshao, but I can't remember their name.
Aside from my personal team, I've also made teams for some of my fictotypes.
We are a pokemon team. An umbreon, a sandshrew, and an abra. Although we in our past life didn't fight in pokemon battles. The opposite actually, we where really against it, but I believe we were pretty strong together.
this was a fun thread in concept and to read through.
Sylveon- this is my favorite pokemon now. it just has such a cute design that i loved it as soon as i saw it. doesn't really have any kin significance, it's just an obligatory pick.
Luxray- the shinx line is the closest thing we have to a lynx line and i think luxray embodies it best. this is my pick for ash.
Dragonair- a dragon for howl pendragon. dragonair is the one closest in aesthetic to my style as howl.
Rapidash- this one is here for link. i wanted a pokemon who could represent epona and rapidash is the perfect pick for that.
Corviknight- originally i had murkrow on here instead of corviknight, but i like corviknight a little bit better as a crow representation even if it's more for corvids in general.
Eevee- sort of represents all my kintypes. eevee can take on multiple different types in evolution and has a lot of different influences so it somewhat felt fitting for the concept of kin as a whole. also it's just a pokemon all my kintypes love.
Torracat because it's my fave. Boltund, it looks neat. Ninetales, I actually have a vulpix in sword but don't know how to evolve it. Corviknight, I actually have one. Lycanroc, I like the design. Vaporeon, my fav eeveelution (also easy pick because it looks like Undyne (aka me))
I'm not super good at Pokemon strategy and all that, but here's my favorite Pokémon! • Glacion- I have a Glacion plushie that I am very attached to so in extension Glacion is also my favorite Pokémon • Sandshrew- I don't need to explain this. It's Sandshrew. •Lurantis- Pretty mantis • Lucario- Yet again, do I need to explain this? It's Lucario!

a few years ago i made theoretical pokemon teams for if i were an in-universe gym leader. i couldn't decide on dragon type or water type though, so i made one of each, and i think they still hold up pretty well today. dragonite, goodra, feraligatr, and swampert are some of my favorite pokemon too. i joke that dragonite and goodra are "me-coded" and i'm very fond of them in particular.
