hello friends, I wanted to start a discussion about fidgets, especially those that mimick kintype behaviors. you're welcome to describe what you already use or ask for suggestions for new things to try.
for example, I'm a cat and I like to squeeze blankets and stuffed animals to satisfy the urge to knead. I'd love to hear other ideas of things to use for this purpose!
it doesn't have to be related to alterhuman stuff either. one of my favorite fidgets is a flippy chain (made out of plastic pieces because I don't like the smell of metal). I also have a small, smooth, bean-shaped piece of wood that I rub and squeeze and press into my hands to feel pressure.
I chew constantly. I switched to human-friendly chew stims because otherewise I was damaging my hair (which I chewed), teeth, breaking pens/pencils, etc. I guess it could be connected to my dog kintype, but I've been a habitual chewer for so long, long before I started considering myself nonhuman, so the two don't feel linked to me, internally.
Chewing is also a thing for me. I really love Tangles--I had one as a kid, completely forgot about it, realized after figuring out my neurodivergence that I'm An Adult Who Can Buy Things Now, and currently own like half a dozen of them because they were on sale. I also used to have a fidget dodecahedron in college, but it broke. I recently found somewhere other than Amazon that sells them, and I'm sorely tempted...
Gonna agree with chewing so much. Unfortunately TMJ means I can't chew gum anymore, so I mostly crunch hard peppermints or hold safe plastic toys for kids in my teeth without biting down.
Other than that having a basketball in my hands gives me draknfeels? like specifically the bumps, and being either smaller or normal size. Sometimes I'll hold one or bat it between my paws. If I could be demi/drakn/forms I'd absolutely love to run around a large space and play with a basketball.
(Someone toss a basketball into my enclosure I'm bored. or put more air in mine it's kinda too flat :c )
My other stims and fidgets probably aren't drakn related. I have a fidget cube which would be perfect if it was a bit bigger (I might be getting arthritis in my hands, and I have a repetitive stress injury in one hand from drawing "wrong" my entire life) and I carry this little very old spearow toy. It's crinkly in a quiet way and has wings and feet and tail and a mane that can be fidgeted with. (it's so old it has 3 toes on each foot from the original design)

Oh yeah, chewing is a big one. I have two necklaces from Stimtastic with chewable pendants and love them dearly (even if I keep forgetting I own them and end up chewing on my nails instead). Unsurprisingly, dragons love to gnaw. I don't think this is related to any of my 'types, but I'm also very texture-focused? Like, I just love running my hands over different things to feel the texture. I'm a big fan of worn corners on books (surprisingly velvety!) and rubber scroll wheels on computer mice.
i have these two pendants of a character i have a love/hate relationship with (/lh) and they clank when they touch. i like to jangle them a lot, it really calms my nerves; the jingling also reminds me of this pin/brooch thing i had in my falsified memories that also clanked gently whenever i moved.
bonus: when i daydream, i rock around a lot, so having the pressure of my necklace bonking me on the chest gently helps ground me to reality and keep me from getting too lost in my own head.
