Non-human character roleplay forum to non-human identity forum pipeline.
Oh, this had me absolutely losing it.
Honestly this discussion is getting me nostalgic for Wolfquest. It wasn't necessarily roleplay forums, but there were a few groups here and there.
The game itself, though, I remember spending hours and hours logging on and joining Warrior Cats groups. FeralHeart, too, now that I think of it. Would've done Impressive Title before then if it had worked on my computer.
gods, i totally forgot about wolfquest roleplay groups. made some good friends there back in the day. and feralheart was definitely a highlight of that era, too.
I remember WCRPG before it became FeralFront. Anyone remember the MyWarriorCats Adoptables site that was attached to it? I still miss its early days before they started adding a bunch of unrelated species.
It's exciting to be back on a forum again, especially Proboards. While the banner is infinitely annoying (and has definitely gotten worse recently because I don't remember it showing up on almost every page), I have an attachment to it since I grew up with it. More a fan of this basic style of form compared to the "fancier" forum styles there are nowadays.
I have a lot of things churning in my head that I'd love to discuss, but have no idea where. Should take my time, anyway.
Being here brought back the comfortable feeling of "hey, here are the people like me!", so i'm thankful for that. My first nonhuman forum was kinmunity, and I didn't interact much with other people before that, prefered solo games and never really got into roleplaying ahah.

This!!! Forums — when run well — feel more like a home, a friendly shared ‘home base’ or ‘community hall’ to return to, and have a comfy chat or invigorating discussion on, where it feels like you’re actually Hanging Out with people, getting to know them, walking down familiar paths with gathering spots of friends and neighbours —
— rather than the ships crossing in the night (?) feeling of responding to a twitter or tumblr blog, even if you regularly interact with the same few people....
.... forums just have a special homey feeling for me; I can visualise this image of green grass and soft dirt paths and familiar faces coming together in the virtual equivalent(s) of a real location nXn I have such a feeling of happiness and warmth, of home, that I haven’t gotten from tumblr in a long time, probably not since I first joined years ago!
