It's been a while since I cooked (quarantine + uni is stealing all my energy), but one recipe I love, which is really easy and gives me kin feels, is hearts in cream sauce. It's an old Northern European dish that's rarely made nowadays because the general attitude towards offal is... negative to say the least.
I tend to just boil brown rice instead of making a vegetable purée, add mushrooms to the pot, and forgo the parsley and meat needles. Just because it's easier that way and I'm lazy :p

I love sashimi. Not sure if its because of my kintype, but I think it makes sense. I love steak and lamb. Which is, generic, but then again, I’d wondered a bit at my preferred choice of food
I love me some sweets tho, chocolate goodness and oozing melted deliciousness. Can that even be related to kin reason? I doubt so.
I do think my taste for Japanese food ties in with simple past lives and this life’s upbringing. Still contemplating if I was a dragon residing near Japan. Thus reincarnated on to Japan land and nearby area...
But! FOOD Customary Sashimi plate
Molten Custard Bun
This is hella good dim sum food, is like lava cake but instead is salted lava custard.

That sounds amazing, and a little artery clogging (don't mind the semi-pun). I love offal too and it's often so cheap because no one wants it here in the US either.

Makes sense! Amazing how much past lives can be influential. Even if that's not the reason, Japanese food (and eastern Asian food in general) is absolutely killer, and if sushi and Dim Sum weren't expensive/hard to get around here, I'd have fish and dumplings every day of the week.

I don't have any pictures, but I'll share one of my favourite dishes to cook. It's very simple, with few ingredients.
Ingredients: -risoni/orzo pasta, 1 cup -pesto (you can make your own, but I just use store bought lol) -butternut pumpkin -chicken mince -solanato/mini-roma/whatever small tomatoes you like
Method: -cut the butternut into small cubes, sprinkle with olive oil and salt, and put in a 200C oven for 45mins. -while the pumpkin cooks, bring a pot of salted water to boil and cook the pasta as directed. -in a large pan, cook the chicken mince, making sure to break it into small clumps. Once cooked add 1/2 of your pesto. -when the pasta is cooked, add a few spoonfuls of the water to your chicken and pesto. Drain the pasta and add it in the pan. Then add the rest of the pesto and mix well. -when the pumpkin is cooked, remove it from the oven and stir it through the pasta. -serve your desired amount in a bowl, then halve as many of the tomatoes as you like and add them on top.
I keep my tomatoes in the fridge until I'm ready to serve, and I really love the way the coldness and acidity of the tomatoes contrasts with the warmth and earthyness(?) of the pesto pasta, and the sweetness of the butternut.
So I built a machine / A human machine / I made it with steel / And soy-protein / Born from a test tube / And into a vat / To live and to heave / And to die just like that
I have a distinct lack of motivation recently, so my last meal was just pizza ahah. I want to try and cook some veal liver soon however, it's sitting in my fridge and I have all the ingredients on hand, just need my brain to be okay with doing One Task. One day i'll be able to prepare myself my weird offal dishes. One day.
Hemlock - maybe if you just thaw it you'll be compelled to finish the job? That's what happens when I take something out of the freezer, at least :) Beef liver is delicious, and it's so simple! If you want to add something to it, a premade red wine sauce is a good match, but honestly, liver is good enough on its own if you ask me :3
Made some okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake) a couple days ago:
I also managed to smear the top of a loaf of bread all over before cooking it, resulting in the ugliest loaf of bread I've probably ever made. It's garlic rosemary olive oil bread, so at least the flavor is nice!
Sadly, I haven't made anything recently that's related to my kintype, but the weather has been nice here finally, so I actually have an excuse to do some grilling ^.=.^

We had apricot chicken for dinner last night and my mum wants to test out her pie maker by making apricot chicken pies. I just hope she uses the right pastry, as she got filo pastry by mistake.

I don't have pics, but I made Turkish delight the other day. It's actually very easy to make, it's mostly sugar and cornstarch (it's almost a vegan jello XD ). Made them orange-flavored cause it was the first thing I had on hand (could've had a stronger flavor tho...), but my mom gave me the idea of making ginger next and that sounds bomb. Not a fan of cooking, but I love baking and making sweets.

I really want to try that custard bun. Seems like it would feel like eating a raw egg. Though bc of my archade job where I get free soda and candy, ive ended up not really liking sweets anymore. Ive gotten obsessed with beef jerky lately though. I didnt used to like it, but i had some recently and i guess my tastes changed because now I can not stop thinking about them. Theyre kinda like dog treats too, so it gives be nonhuman feels. I kinda want someone to give them to me to reward good behaviour, even though I am not domestic?
