Personally I never got the chance to play War of The Monsters, as I never had a PS2 though funnily enough did have access to a PS3. I was also a bit of a dumb kid in a sense that I didn't realize there were other monster games out there outside of Gojira LOL, but this is really cool to see! Thanks for the mention.

If you're ever looking for a monster game online, I definitely recommend Monster Arena on Newgrounds. It did use Adobe Flash which is sad since it isn't supported anymore, but it was pretty much a monster fighting focused version of Pokémon really. It was pretty addicting from what I can remember.

alright here's a (fairly) underrated one:
Monster Hunter Stories 2

Its a game similar-ish to Pokémon where you get to collect monsters from monster hunter (in game they call them monsties, but I just call them monsters) by going into their dens (though they are more like mini-areas in some cases) and taking one of their eggs. Its a really good game so far (there is only a demo right now, but I've put about 15 hrs into it, its coming out on the 8th/9th though which date depends on time zones)

Basic summary is that you are a new rider in Mahana village who is the grandchild of a Red, whos Rathalos helped protect the island you live on. Lately, native Rathalos are leaving their homes mysteriously and other strange happening are going on around the world. You get a Rathalos egg from Ena, Wyverian who knew you grandfather, which ends up hatching into Razewing Ratha, a legendary Rathalos that is said to be able to destroy the world. So you go on an adventure trying to prevent your Rathalos from being killed and trying to figure out what is causing the weird occurrences.

In the game you ride your monster and fight other monsters in a JRPG like style (turn based). You also don't have to play the first game to understand this one but I also recommend that game. I can understand why this make some people uncomfortable like mainline Monster Hunter games but at least for me, riding around on my monster and exploring dens give me kin feels.

(sorry I rambled alot, Monster Hunter in general is a special interest for me haha..)

OH i love golden treasures, it gave me such strong kin feels even though im not even a dragon exactly. Its a very good game for survival and exploring a semi realistic but still magical enviornment. Im so glad you mentioned it bc I love this game but forgot the name so I couldnt find it quite. The ending is so good and has such a good explanation for dragonkin that part of me just kinda beleived the game is real and true. Id love to know more about what you know about the maker being draconic?
