One of the few that I feel comforted by is, predictably, The Isle. It's a game that almost feels like taking a walk. I don't really interact with anyone and I'm basically just off doing my own thing and surviving while getting lost in the feels.
A second game that I imagine is far more surprising to most is the original Donkey Kong Country. Since I was little there was just something about the vibe of that game that evoked the feelings of nature...just the sense of melancholy, imminent danger and harsh survival. Hard to explain but if anyone's played it maybe they'll get what I'm talking about.
cattails is a really nice game!! its similar to the warrior cats books in terms of the different groups of cats and territory and what not.. i havent played it in a while but it was really nice to just. be a cat! hunting fish! :]

Forget worlds on Roblox. It satisfies my species dysphoria.
This is fictionkin related, but thought I'd share because both my fictoypes are non-human. Piggy is where one of my fictoypes (Foxy) comes from. Satisfies my species dysphoria AND home sickness.
Ahoy everyone. I go by Foxy. I'm a horror based fictionkin, part conceptkin and C'linker.
My sister who is dragonkin often plays Skyrim and Oblivion, due to them having dragonborns and lizard humanoids you can play as. There’s also cat humanoids, and there’s mods you can get for different species to play as. She’s currently trying one that lets you play as a tiger humanoid.
If anyone has a game that allows you to be an angel, or spirit, please lmk ^^ Not much of a gamer but they can be comforting definitely.
Pronouns: it/its He/him Optional Field: Please talk to us! I love to make new alterhuman and nonhuman friends. You can talk to me about anything, I love interaction!

Of the httyd apps is this the one youd reccomend the most? I downloaded school of berk and rise of berk but if you like that one more ill probably look t that one instead
Depends on what you mean? If you want dragon feels Titan Uprising is good for just collecting and petting dragons, ie most of those images I didn't quote again (lol), while SoD can be good for just. Being a dragon/drakn. You can run, fly, and shoot, and make the viking player character invisible.
Buuut if you're asking about Gameplay? I wouldn't recommend any of them.
For anyone interested in HTTYD dragons, here's my summary... Rise of Berk - good if you like landscape organisation, but patience is a must. School of Dragons - an open world game where you can actually feel like you're flying, however its demographic is catered to children so the features are very simple. Titans Uprising - you can pet dragons which is cute but it has no bearing on the gameplay, main gameplay is just a match 3 arcade game.
Yup.
I play all 3 and like I said I wouldn't actually recommend any of them for the Gameplay. Rise of Berk and Titan Uprising are good for me because: (a) drakns (b) my energy is too low for real videogames (c) my energy is very low and I'm bored very often and playing games with real-time cooldowns and dailies works very well for me. I'm also a paying subscriber to both games because without it they're infuriating.
SoD is worse. The graphics are not good. All of the quests are usually go there now go there now come back. I literally don't have any quests left in the game except for in the expansions - which are paid dlc. In the last few years I've only jumped into the game when there were events to grind for prizes.
edit: Rise Of Berk just added an additional $10 subscription thing??
"Draken: the Ancient's Gates" it's an old-ish game but probably one of my favorites. That and its' predecessor "Order of the Flame".. The sass between the main 'playable' character and her soul bonded dragon dragon really remind me of the relationship between me and Shep.
"Okami" although technically playing as a wolf, it really helps me connect to my feral 'war fox' form esp back when I played on Wii.
"Ark" not specifically for the dinos but the maps remind me of 'back home' especially Abberation, Crystal Isles (rock drake caves) and uhh a few places on Val.. you get it the glowey places. Also some of the more fantastical creatures like ShadowManes hit close to home.. manticore are on the map too
"Pokemon Rocket Edition" ok so this was a short download I found for an emulator.. and once I started it, it gave me a power trip/ HUGE M-shift that was stuck till I beat it. I loved it and would def play it again just to get in that mindset again

as disappointed as i was with the writing and plot of Werewolf The Apocalypse: Earthblood, i really really liked the wolf content and i think about replaying it often. you can just switch between human and wolf at the touch of a button and in combat you can be a huge anthro wolf
ripley's believe it or not made me who i am today ------ oh no a full moon!!! get away before i transform into a horrible monster that just wants treats and tummy rubs!!!

Hi im obsessed with Ark now sjjhs. Im just playing the free phone game but plan to get the ultimate edition for ps4 when it drops friday

wolfquest has been a HUGE comfort game since 2009, and the new anniversary edition is pretty great for that too. i really enjoy the scenery there.
i also have been getting into vrchat, which helps a little with kinfeels too.... i enjoy how many forest maps there are, but i think the aforementioned wolfquest anniversary edition has spoiled me a bit, so i can be a bit picky about what sort of forest maps i want to visit... aside from forest maps though i also just like general landscapes.
and other than those games... hmm, hard to really think of any others i've played to the same degree... back in the day, i'd play an obscene amount of skyrim, and i'd spend most of my game-hours as a werewolf, LOL. no mods or anything, just oldrim on xbox 360, no dlc either.
the shelter series is nice for it too - not quite wolf / cat, but i still enjoy 1/2/meadow a lot.
i used to play the endless forest, too, for similar 'woodland animal kin' reasons, though that's another game that lacks my kintypes. i still really liked the atmosphere. (though i disagree with how they've been working on the remake..... slow progress, barely any devlogs, etc.... i backed the remake ages ago but kinda wish i'd saved the money for something else.)

Hi, not a therian here (at least not anymore) but I'm fictionkin and part conceptkin, my fictoypes all make me otherkin so I thought I would post here since I am otherkin, I just rarely use the label.
I play my source as often as I can, which isn't to often sadly. When I go to my fathers it's a break from my harsh life so that's the time were I can play Piggy. Piggy is a game with anthro non-human animals and creatures, only humans are the players themselves. Though canonically in story there's only one human.
Ahoy everyone. I go by Foxy. I'm a horror based fictionkin, part conceptkin and C'linker.
Animal crossing is my favourite for kin feels ^w^ even tho you're the only human in an animal world, u can dress yourself in animal print and dog snouts and animal hoods o(>w<)o also, i'm decorating my entire island to be snow leopard themed, so it's so fun to get to immerse myself into my kintype and build my home <3
Sky: Children of the light is a big one for me too, I love that I can fly in it! It brings me a lot of both creature comfort, especially because the flight mechanics feel so so similar to how flying feels in my dreams! I haven't played it in a little bit because the community aspect while amazing can be tough on me sometimes with no spoons, but i love the world very much.
Breath of wild is amazing, love the exploration/travel aspects and the hunting is amazing!
Subnautica is Great for dolphin brain, loveeeee the swimming and catching fish sososo much. Abzu for similar reasons, i spent so long playing with that orca pod in it.
Ark? Idk if id consider that a kin game, but it brought me a similar comfort when i was playing with a kin community i met on otherconnect. I miss that, I should join back in with them again.
i find minecraft kind of species affirming(?), but that has less to do with anything inherent to the game and more so how i chose to play it. i sometimes use a skin and playstyle that matches my 'type. there's a lot of hunting and exploring the wilderness too, so that's kind of cool. also, i play with Mizuno's 16 Craft texture pack, which makes the villagers look like anthro animals, so I'm not the only one of my species in the whole mc world!
animal jam and fer.al (RIP 😔) are also very pretty nice with respect to being one's species. i once played this warrior cats roblox game. i wasn't able to really roleplay or whatever else you're supposed to do in the game, but the character customization was really nice and made me species euphoric! i also played furvilla for a while when it first came out. i didn't end up liking the gameplay all too much, but i imagine maybe some others in this thread might still like it for species-related reasons. The original Petz series is also really fun, but that's more about taking care of a pet than being the pet.
idk if this really counts as a game, but my brother has a vr headset and plays vrchat a lot. he doesn't know i'm alterhuman, but he does know that i'm involved in the furry fandom and have a fursona. he's offered to help me import a model of my sona (or at least a model similar to my 'sona) into the game and let me borrow his headset so that i can "truely be" my fursona. i'm really hoping if i do this, it'll alleviate some species dysphoria i've been having lately.
For my theriotypes I would say Goat Simulator (goofy ik but it's a good game), Animal Jam (partly because I used to play it ALL THE TIME and partly because it is nice when I just need to wind down and relax with something that makes me feel more in tune with my theriotpyes), and Wild Craft (It's very buggy btw but it works for a free game that has a basic premise and idea that you can play to take your mind off of things *Idk how to word this, I'm bad at typing*).
For my kintypes I would say any Kirby game (I'm a Kirby fictionkin) and I can't think of anything else but I'll update if I think of more
